Kitchen Tip: To keep the strawberries fresh longer in the refrigerator, use 1 Part White Vinegar to 10 Parts Water. Soak uncut strawberries, for a few minutes. Drain strawberries in a colander until completely dry. Place strawberries in uncovered bowl in the refrigerator. The vinegar/water mixture kills mold spores on the strawberries and keeps them fresh longer. The vinegar does not affect the taste. This also works for all kinds of berries: blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.

DIY carrot seed strips
Seed strips are the best way to plant carrots and other small-seed veggies. And this chore (part of it, anyway), I can do at the kitchen table. I cut strips of single-ply paper towel, drop blobs of cornstarch "glue" on the strips, drop on the seeds, let dry, and plant the strips. The glue: mix 1/2 cup water and a heaping spoonful of cornstarch in a measuring cup, zap for about a minute in the microwave, stir and let cool. It'll be glue-like, but water soluble.
