I remember doing this in Girl Scouts. Yarn Ornaments: Use smaller water balloons for these smaller projects. Use larger balloons to create outdoor lanterns with the same technique!

YARN EGGS - I've used this technique for making Xmas ornaments by winding yarn, ribbon or string around an inflated balloon. I first dip the string/yarn etc, in ModPodge or Elmer's Glue. Once the ball is dry, you pop the baloon and voila, you have an ornament!
