Mamihlapinatapais - from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, it is considered the world’s most succinct word and the hardest to translate. - it means: a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but that neither one wants to start. Love it!!

Placement is on my left wrist. It says “meraki” which is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love —when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be. Done by Isaac Johnson at Branded Man Tattoo.

another pinner said :"its an enso -- it represents a journey. i have one on my foot -- the buddhist monks draw these with brushes in journals; an open enso signifies an ongoing journey!"

The Red String of Fate: According to this myth, the gods tie a red string around the ankles (or, in some versions, the little finger) connecting two people who are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break.

You could have stopped, but you chose to go on. I want this because self harm and depression are things that some people do and have gone through but they chose to live on despite that fact that they did have gone through tough times

Cool idea! The tattoo is based off of the idea of the red string of fate, an Asian belief that two people are connected by a red string (tied together by the gods) and they are destined to develop a great friendship, fall in love, or help each other in some way. It’s a reminder to me that my relationships with people around me are going to continuously change, fall apart, evolve, and improve, and that’s okay - we are connected, nevertheless.

I want an arrow tattoo and a word tattoo. This is a good idea. I just don't like the placement or the word. Maybe like faith or perseverance

Person's meaning behind the tattoo: "The spell actually means ‘I await for a protector” in Latin. In the Harry Potter itself, ‘Expecto Patronum” is used to repel Dementors. Dementor is the guard of the Azkaban prison, a dark creature that absorbs your joy and happiness. So, in other words, the spell is used to repel all the bad aura that wants to steal happiness. The unique thing about it is, if you want to cast the spell, you have to think of things that make you happy."
