Mamihlapinatapais - from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, it is considered the world’s most succinct word and the hardest to translate. - it means: a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but that neither one wants to start. Love it!!
This tattoo is based on the Asian belief that two people are tied together by a red thread of fate (by the gods). They are destined to fall in love, have a great friendship or help each other succeed in some way. I love it as a reminder of the people we love and have loved, and how things may change, but never take away who they've been to us.
According to an eastern asian legend, the gods would tie an invisible red string around men and women who were meant to be soul mates and in time, would marry one another. This magical string can twist, tangle, or stretch, but the ‘bond’ will neverbreak. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. Beautiful couple tattoo ♥
You could have stopped, but you chose to go on. I want this because depression are things that some people do and have gone through but they chose to live on despite that fact that they did have gone through tough times
The original person who posted: This is my fourth tattoo. I got it at SkinDeep Tattoo Studio in Montreal by Rowan McKenzie. It’s a small studio but he’s a great artist. I know a lot of people get bird tattoos, but mine means moving forward. I also love birds and envy their ability to fly. I really love it.
Dopamine tattoo. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter involved in pleasure, happiness, mood regulation, learning, and sleep. This tattoo serves as a reminder that I literally make my own happiness, and signifies my commitment to a career in neuroscience. It’s also a great reminder that although people come and go throughout life, family, friends, anyone, that it’s up to me to be happy with myself regardless.
