swiffer refill solution: Sunday, September 11, 2011 DIY: Swiffer Solution Refill I found any easy way to refill your swifter wet jet mop! You can fill it with any cleaning solution you want. This goes along perfectly with my tutorial on how to make a reusable swifter wet jet pad. You know what this means people? It means no more buying swifter refills ever again! Let's hear it for saving money! Just boil some water and hold the lid in the hot water for about 10-20 seconds. Careful, it gets hot! Hold it sideways to avoid the steam. Use a dish rag to twist off the cap.

I love DIY Cleaning Solutions! I may not always have a special cleaner on hand for a particular job but I usually have these ingredients. As a bonus I'm using mostly natural ingredients and I save money too.

Homemade foaming soap: 1 inch of liquid hand soap, Slowly fill the rest of the bottle with tap water. Put lid back on, and gently tip upside down & side to side to mix. Don’t shake (it will get too sudsy)

Homemade Wood Floor Cleaner 1 cup vinegar 3 cups water 10 drops tea tree oil 10 drops lemon essential oil Mix all ingredients together in a container and pour on floor and mop as usual.

Removing the lid from the Swiffer bottle. I plan on refilling mine with a homemade vinegar based cleaner.

Homemade Bleach.. Ingredients: 1 cup hydrogen perioxide 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 15 cups of water Mix together and store in a large jug. I pour mine into a smaller bottles for convenience. Since the peroxide will oxidize and eventually loose strength it's best to use the homemade bleach within a month.

Swiffer pads (that you wash instead of throw away) soon as I have time to sew these, I'm going to!
