I'm thinking of doing some paintings of hands - hands at work? Hands for life? Being an OT, hands are meaningful and artistic - yup a study of hands thru paint is now on the list. To Do's!

I need to focus on throwing cuz I would love to be good at it but not sure I have the attention span. For now hand building is my obsession.

Something important is happening in our society today: people are being mindful. More often. In more ways. And in more places. The simple act of being present has the power to change everything--how we approach ourselves, our challenges, our relationships, and our communities.

This photo is pretty cool. It has movement and a person creating art, and yet the atmosphere feels calm, the hands confident, making it seem like it's the easiest thing to do. The hands seem older, and that signals passion and taking time out for one's self. I love the limited use of colors and how the shadows play. This is so gorgeous.

This was taken during a visit to a small pottery workshop during our Faces and Places Photo Tour to Oman. It's also the image I've added as this week's Mini-PSD, not so much because it's a stunning image from the outset (it isn't), but because the change between the original and final image is dramatic.
