a stolen life - the jaycee dugard story

"I was born twice: first, as a baby girl, on a remarkably smogless Detroit day of January 1960; and then again, as a teenage boy, in an emergency room near Petoskey, Michigan, in August of l974. " A Pulitzer Prize Winner. A Favorite book.

One of the most incredible reads ... not an easy read but well worth it.

"It is about the big changes that can unexpectedly happen in a young person’s life and how the young person copes with it. It is also a story of confronting one’s fears, of identifying the roots of one’s feelings and managing them. It is also a coming-of-age story. One of the things I like about this book is the way Connolly takes all popular fairy tales and interprets them in his own way and weaves them seamlessly into the story."

The Soldier's Wife by Margaret Leroy ... Another pinner wrote, "This book put me into a serious "book hangover" for days! Great read!"

Still Alice by: Lisa Genova An absolutely amazing book! I found myself truly feeling everything Alice felt as she was experiencing her symptoms increase throughout the development of her Alzheimer's.

The Violets of March by Sarah Jio. This book took me by surprise! Set in my part of the world, an island in Washington State, I could relate with the landscape and the story!
