Missing Homework Letter to send home at the end of the week - students have to reflect on why the assignments are missing and what they plan to do about it in the future.

ACTIVITY: I Cans - Alternative to exit slips. Give each student an "I Can Statement" form each Monday to document what they learn during the week. At the beginning of a lesson, have students write their "I Can" statement for the lesson in the space provided. This gives them the opportunity to hear, write, and read what they will be learning, and also provides an opportunity for students to assume some responsibility for their learning.
