Landscaping That's for the Birds. Winterberries (Ilex verticillata) put on a spectacular show in late fall and early winter—until the birds find them. Birdfeeders aren't the only tools for attracting birds. By choosing the right trees, shrubs and perennials, you can create a habitat that will draw birds and other wildlife.
Spiral Bird Feeder. Wrap wire around a rolling pin or tin can to shape. Simply pull both ends of your feeder to create an opening, slip fruit inside; oranges, apples, grapes & melons. Put peanut butter on a pine cone, roll in bird seed, place in feeder. Clean out feeder as food spoils. Or...Fill your feeder with nesting materials (yarn, thin strips of cloth, grass clippings) birds will flock from afar
