Explore Memorial Washington, Washington D C, and more!

Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C. This is the most visited monument in the country. You can stand on the spot where Dr. King gave his "I have a dream" speech and look out towards the Reflecting Pool. It's the most dramatic view in the nation's capital.

Vietnam Wall Memorial Washington DC I made a rubbing of the names before and after where my big brother's name would have been had he not returned from Vietnam. Gratitude and sorrow.

Five Things for Friday It's Friday and what have I found this week? Last weekend was a long weekend as we in the US were celebrating Memorial Day. We took the opportunity to travel over to Washougal Washington and visit the Pendleton Woolen Mills Outlet Store as they were having a huge sale --80% of some items! Reflecting Pond in front of the Lincoln Memorial Washington, DC.I stood on the steps of the Memorial where many famous people have been...Dr. Martin Luther King. Also, Abbie Hoffman, giving his Vietnam Speech & protesting the war, more than 100,000 people turned out for that. Later on that day 50,000 marched towards the Pentagon where they were blocked off by members of the military. As the police pointed their rifles at them, the protesters put flowers in the ends of their guns.

There is not a place better where the memorial could have been placed. It is in the center of our country's capital, also showing ethos due to all the United States History.

He lay unclaimed in at the D.C. medical examiners office and might have been destined for a nameless paupers grave. But his neighbors in his apartment building where the vet lived for 40 years wanted something better for him so they worked the bureaucracy and raised the money to have his ashes…
