wait a lot of these chores me and my sisters do everyday. the laundry one is totally unfair in the 'victims' advantage.
I would write 50 nice letters to my mom.
My kids got themselves grounded for being late to school, so I thought I would use it to my advantage. I came up with a clever way to get them ungrounded.

Wish I had thought of this before my good but sometimes "push-the-limits" daughter had ever gotten her hands on a cell phone which she now feels is an entitlement. I may be using a modified form of that contract starting in next few weeks!
Looking through there phone with or without their permission? That's a terrible idea. If you give your child a cell phone you should trust them enough not to go through their phone. It's invasion of privacy. I wouldn't want my parents going through my phone.

It's illegal to lock your kids out of the house. I know someone who did it and CPS came for a visit. There are plenty of ways to make your kid's life a living hell- like emptying their room of all possessions except a couple of ugly outfits, mattress and blanket, comb, toothbrush, and baking soda for toothpaste, taking away the phone, and giving them PB sandwiches every meal. If you show them you are serious with everything early on and are consistent about it, you won't have to resort to locking them out. But, if they are unruly, again, make their life as unpleasant as possible and provide them with the minimum that you are required by law and things will change very quickly.
I agree with Esmeralda Witte, I was out past curfew once. My parents were not afraid of beating our butts. To many parents try to be friends with their kids,
Maybe the kids need to think about being left outside and unsafe before they miss curfew......hhhhhmmmmm?????? The kids can call the cops....thats fine....you'll find out how pleasant juvie is.....
LOL....and let me add....I would have MUCH rather slept on the patio with NO blanket then meet my mom at the door!!!! HAHA...thats what my kids get....crazy mom at the door waiting for them!!!!
I couldn't sleep a wink knowing my teen was outside. Depends on where you live, for sure & what time of year it is. Seriously cold some places!
