Even when they’re mean to you it’s all for the best. | 20 Reasons Your Parents Are The Absolute Greatest

My kids got themselves grounded for being late to school, so I thought I would use it to my advantage. I came up with a clever way to get them ungrounded.

Wish I had thought of this before my good but sometimes "push-the-limits" daughter had ever gotten her hands on a cell phone which she now feels is an entitlement. I may be using a modified form of that contract starting in next few weeks!

Looking through there phone with or without their permission? That's a terrible idea. If you give your child a cell phone you should trust them enough not to go through their phone. It's invasion of privacy. I wouldn't want my parents going through my phone.

Cell phone contract kids. This might be outdated by the time I actually allow the kids to have a cell phone :/

It's illegal to lock your kids out of the house. I know someone who did it and CPS came for a visit. There are plenty of ways to make your kid's life a living hell- like emptying their room of all possessions except a couple of ugly outfits, mattress and blanket, comb, toothbrush, and baking soda for toothpaste, taking away the phone, and giving them PB sandwiches every meal. If you show them you are serious with everything early on and are consistent about it, you won't have to resort to locking them out. But, if they are unruly, again, make their life as unpleasant as possible and provide them with the minimum that you are required by law and things will change very quickly.

I couldn't sleep a wink knowing my teen was outside. Depends on where you live, for sure & what time of year it is. Seriously cold some places!
