The face of Surrey Hill Residents // "The city of Sydney have recently completed their sydney prject of which they have layered 160,000 resident portraits by male and females of the area. This project I found to be SO interesting because it not only reflects by picture what sort of people live there but puts an exact face to what the neighborhood would look like if they all got together and birthed a child. I also took the liberty to pull up maps just to show the exactly where these people are living in relationship to one another." // @Anita W. // http://whyeverythingisinteresting.wordpress.com/ The Face
David Trood created the Face of Humanity based on an accurate ratio of the world´s ethnic/regional groups according to 2009 demographics. He photographed 670 men and women (1/10,000,000th of the global population at that time) who were selected to proportionally represent the demographics of the world population as reported in 2009. He then merged all of the male portraits and all of the female portraits to create respectively the Male Face of Humanity and the Female Face of Humanity.
