Anna Atkins. Lived from 1799-1871. She had a large interest in botany, and used the cyanotype process to photograph plants. She later made a book with these plant photographs, and was credited with making the first book of photos. Anna Atkins is also credited for being the first female photographer.

Karen Walker is working with the United Nations’ ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative on a campaign to create work for community groups in urban slums and hostile rural areas of Kenya. NOT CHARITY, JUST WORK. This eye wear line are distributed with screen printed pouches that are designed by the Kenyans themselves. I love this out of the box idea and through the campaign Walker is highlighting to the consumer the problems workers face trying to make the customers more ethically aware.
