I decided to make some anchor charts for addition and subtraction key words. I got the idea from Jodi at Fun in First (she has really great ideas... if you haven't checked out her blog, you NEED to). Here is the addition chart (I love how it is shaped like an addition sign): After downloading both documents, print on card stock, arrange nicely on addition/subtraction shaped posters, and laminate. FREE - This product includes creative ideas for using plastic Easter eggs in your classroom. The product also includes a printable recording sheet for students to use! This will increase accountability if using the activity at work stations or math tubs.
There is no printable but seems easy enough to make: number sense - might be a great center activity for 1st grade math! Should always have one math center deal with basic facts. This one might need to be parent/para/teacher led until the students get used to how to do it.
Jenga Math (indoor recess...kids will love it!) You can also write in sharpie on them...maybe one side for math and the other for language?! Possibilities are endless! I knew I kept Jenga and Twister in my storage closet for some reason!! =)
