Alexandrite Necklace, L.C. Tiffany, 1914-15. Alexandrite, semi-precious stones, gold. Tiffany greatly admired the Alexandrite and kept in his own collection until gifting it to his companion Sarah Hanley. Here, the center stone is set into a restrained art nouveau mount, with beaded chain of gold, amber, carnelian, garnet, opal, orange and blue sapphire, and tourmaline.
