Original 1980 theater poster for "Urban Cowboy" movie. Great picture of John Travolta as Bud. My favorite movie. Part of the collection of vintage original Gilley's Club and Urban Cowboy memorabilia.

Bud Davis (John Travolta) is a country boy who moves to the city to visit his Uncle Bob (Barry Corbin). Bud starts hanging out with Bob at the local honky tonk, Gilley's, and Bud quickly embraces the local nightlife there. Most of the events take place in and around Gilley's, owned by Mickey Gilley (at the time, an actual bar in Pasadena, which claimed to be the largest indoor bar in the world). #VideoDanceTV #Dance in the #Movies #UrbanCowboy #1980 #Travolta

Urban Cowboy - my favorite John Travolta movie. "All cowboys ain't dumb. Some of 'em got smarts real good, like me." Debra Winger was spot on in this. Long live Bud and Sissy!

urban cowboy - "are you a real cowboy?" "'pends on what you think a real cowboy is...."

Ok if I'm going to start pinning guilty pleasures, Urban Cowboy is THE ultimate guilty pleasure. How an Italian actor from New Jersey pulls off this role is beyond me but dammit, he pulls it off! And being from Houston myself, I was able to visit Gilley's via a third grade field trip! ;)
