Nelson Mandela. "Power to the People." He was born into the Thembu Royal Family, and attended law school, and became actively involved in anti-colonial, and anti-imperialist politics. He was later jailed for his outspoken opposition of the National Party and the Apartheid. He was eventually freed and became the first Black President of SOuth Africa.

Nelson Mandela (7-18-1918 to 12-5-2013) was the first fully democratic elected African President from 1994 to 1999, officially ending a long tradition of apartheid (hate) in South Africa. Mandela had been jailed (27 years) for speaking out against apartheid, until it was abolished in 1990.
