Not only is bride standing as groom sits, but also note the vast space between them. Not a good start to the marriage if you ask me.

On the Wedding Day, Albumen Cabinet Card, Circa 1890 This cabinet card now in my collection formerly belonged to Anne Rice, author of "Interview with the Vampire" and many other books. Apparently while she was researching early photography for one book, she ended up establishing a collection that she has now sold. This really is an exceptionally lovely Wedding photo. The bride's hair piece and veil is magnificent. The card is marked "Williams, Sedalia, Mo."

this is typical for an early 1940s wedding photo, i'm told -- the bride wearing her best dress rather than a traditional gown, as they were rushing to get married before the husband went off to war.
