Break the code is a fun way to practice reading and writing CVC words, as well as, rhyming, and phoneme substitution. Students use the code to figure out what the CVC words are. Once they have written the words, they will follow the directions to write a new word on the line. They will be asked to write a word that rhymes with it, or, to substitute the initial, medial, or final phoneme. There are 6 different sheets for each skill, making a total of 24 different break the code printables.
