OCD, but I love it

a whole site dedicated to organizing your classroom

Here are some strategies for getting organized for the new school year -- both in your classroom and personally!

I'm intrigued by these individual student data folders...could act as a portfolio and give students more ownership...It says 1st grade, but could be adapted to any grade :)

AWESOME!!! these are the student portfolios I keep during the school year.  I put important paperwork, progress reports, daily work, etc. in each of the student's portfolio.  To keep the papers divided by month I have the students color each cardstock paper divider and then place it into their portfolio.

When you say "fist to five check" students rate their understanding by holding up the appropriate number of fingers. The goal is for everyone to be in the green. Great way for students to self-assess their understanding and help you to gauge student understanding.

My desk is such a mess (mostly folders/ piles of papers). I need something like this!

FREE Dolch Words & Phrases Book This is a black & white booklet I make for all of my students each year. It contains all 11 lists of the Dolch Sight Words plus the Dolch Phrases for the students to practice at home.

Brain Builders for Fast Finishers

Students must highlight their name before putting it in the tray. Great way to make sure all papers have names!

I'm pretty sure I have never seen a teacher THIS organized before!! Wow! I'm jealous...I want to be her. Her entire blog post has amazing pictures of classroom organization. These are binders for every topic, season, etc.

What the Teacher Wants!: Student Teacher Binder. If I ever have another student teacher again.

Put student's names on the back of YOUR nametag so that you won't have to worry about finding the list during something like a firedrill.
