The Andy Griffith Show is an American sitcom first televised on CBS between October 3, 1960 and April 1, 1968. Andy Griffith portrays the widowed sheriff of the fictional small community of Mayberry, NC. His life is complicated by an inept, but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife (Don Knotts), a spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), and a precocious young son, Opie (Ron Howard). Local ne'er-do-wells, bumbling pals, and temperamental girlfriends further complicate his life.

Bewitched was my Favorite TV Show. I loved the magic and twitching of the nose and everything seemed to turn out OK in the end. I can remember a lady coming to our small 2 roomed flat where my family of 5 lived when I was 8 yrs old (now 56!). She was completing a door to door survey on what TV shows the family liked best. How times have changed!

Andy Griffith show... Great Memories... RIP Andrew Samuel "Andy" Griffith dies at 86 (June 1, 1926 – July 3, 2012)

Andy, Barney, Opie and Aunt Bee first came to us on CBS along with all the good citizens of Mayberry from 1960-1968, on the Andy Griffith Show! The show was originally a spin-off from the Danny Thomas Show

From 1964-72, this show dominated comedy sitcom and spawned a movie with Nicole Kidman. The show, like, I Dream of Jeannie, is never tiresome with its humor and situations when your wife is a witch. Just rent the DVDs and enjoy!

Andy Taylor and Barney Fife keeping the world (or maybe just Mayberry) safe for democracy).
