Great way to use up your paper stash. You know that paper you had to have but it is too pretty to cut.
This is a super easy and cheap way to get a pop of color in any room! The whole project cost under twenty dollars! I started out by going to Lowe's and buy a 1 ft x 10 ft shelving board. Next I had them cut it down for me ( yeah I am lazy like that ;) into 12 inch by 12 inch squares.
This pretty dress miniature is made from crepe, and scrapbook papers. The bodice detail is carefully stitched in orange cotton on a flock-lined black scrapbook paper, giving it the appearance of black velvet. The orange and black cobwebbed skirt features a black crepe ruffle, and a ruffled undershirt skirt in black tulle. It has a glitzy burnt orange belt with a sparkly diamante buckle in a square shape.
A simple way to organize your scraps is by cleaning up the shape of the piece (with a pair of small, sharp scissors like this) and then popping it into a glassine envelope. I taped the envelopes into a new journal so that I can reference the colorful bits for future paper craft projects. (from decor8)
