NATURALLY AND "TOXIC-FREE" DYED EASTER EGGS Cold method and Hot method: For the majority of these eggs use the cold method. Just mix the ingredients in a non-staining bowl (ie: glass is great) and add hard boiled eggs. Let them sit until the desired color is achieved. For the hot method: add the ingredients and raw eggs to a non-aluminum pan, bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat and let simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit until eggs achieve the desired color.
Before heading out to the store to purchase the typical Easter egg dyes take a look in your pantry and refrigerator. You’d be surprised at the number of items you may already have on hand that will easily and naturally dye your Easter eggs. A variety of spices, vegetables and fruits will transform your eggs into hues of pinks, blues, purples, browns and yellows.
