    Norway - End of the world. In Norwegian you say "verdensende" It is a light house that was used by the vikings hundreds of years ago. Hot coals were put in the basket and they glowed to warn ships of the rocks. #sailingtheweb #lighthouse

Lighthouse "verdensende", world's end. It is from viking times and they would put glowing hot coals in the basket and keep it up like that for the ships to see. when the coals cooled more would be added. It must have been a freezing cold miserable job in the winter. (Tjøme, Norway)

Prt3: Telemark bunad is a Norwegian folk costume. A bunad is something that can be for men and for women. This is the female bunad that they use in Norway. This was what a traditional dress and this is how they used to dress in Norway. The bunad is both traditional rural clothes and a well modern 20th century look. Bunads are now used as costumes not for daily wear. Bunads were part of the culture but now Norway dresses according to the yearly worldly fashion.
