"A sacred place for Christians since the Middle Ages,... Rocamadour attracts 1.5 million visitors and pilgrims every year." This medieval village lies along a gorge above a tributary of the River Dordogne, in the Midi-Pyrénées region of southwestern France, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the St James’ Way pilgrimage route. Rocamadour is also a French cheese from the same area.
