Underwood Typewriter - Looks exactly like my the old, 2nd hand typewriter that I used in high school to write all of my term papers. My dad was a bit on the frugal (meaning "cheap") side.
One of the single best things you can do to learn the craft of screenwriting is to read the script while watching the movie. After all, a screenplay is a blueprint to make a movie and it’s that magic of what happens between printed page and final print that can inform how you approach writing scenes. “The most beautiful things are those that madness prompts and reason writes.”- André Gide. Go Into The Story by Scott
“Writing is finally about one thing: going into a room alone and doing it. Putting words on paper that have never been there in quite that way before. And although you are physically by yourself, the haunting Demon never leaves you—the knowledge of your own terrible limitations, your hopeless inadequacy, the impossibility of ever getting it right. No matter how diamond-bright your ideas are dancing in your brain, on paper they are earthbound.” William Goldman//go into the story by scott myers

Every girl had a diary that locked. It was always a must to hide the key in different places. Yep - and my mom read mine anyway!
As young girls growing up....remember telling our "Dear Diary" all our secret thoughts and feelings? We were careful to keep our diary locked and to hide the key!!
Locking Diary. I loved my diary. I think every girl use to have one of these.

Roller skates...my cousin, Keith, and I spent many summer hours on these when we stayed with Gram & Pop...wonderful childhood memories!!!
I remember my first pair of metal roller skates, with included the necessary skate key. What fun! How I wish I were still that agile!
This was my first roller skates. Metal roller skates!!! With a skate key worn around the neck on a string:)
Old roller skates with a skate key. They would always come off and send me flying. Lots of cuts and bruises but too much fun to care
Just like my first roller skates except my ankle strap was tan. Metal roller skates. With a skate key to tighten the toe clamps against your shoe!
Metal roller skates!!! With a skate key! Yep... And we would wear it on a piece of yarn around our neck....
Metal roller skates w/ a skate key! Have a pair outside for decoration, I bought at a rummage sale for a Dollar ! (No key though)

Typewriter Balls, Selectric Typeball, Blast, 70S, Type Ball, Selectric Typewriters, Boomer
The electric typewriter with spinning ball and power return key - you had to remove this ball and run a brush over the letters to clean trapped ink from it so that the type would look clean and precise. It was fun to watch it spin into position when you would strike the typewriter keys. 70s
The IBM Selectric Typeball was a revolutionary typing element. Instead of using keys connected with a character on them that would individually strike the paper and would sometimes jam, this element would spin around and type each character when activated. Typewriters had one font on their keys. The IBM Selectrics allowed different fonts to be used, simply by switching type balls.

Typewriter balls I used to think these were cutting edge..working as a young receptionist on the IBM Selectric typewriter.. Still had to place a carbon sheet between two sheets of typing paper to make more than one copy and so there was no making a typo. You had to be perfect and you had to file your copies in a folder in a file cabinet in alpha order.. No "Save As" key on a typewriter Lol!
Typewriter balls for the IBM Selectric typewriter! I remember Helvetica; Times Roman; Prestige Elite or Pica; Letter Gothic; Orator (for slides); and, Courier! Then we got the correcting Selectric II with the little orange spools of white cover-up tape!
IBM Selectric typewriter elements. I dearly loved those typewriters, and especially so when they came out with the "Correcting Selectric" models with built-in correction tape. Such a marvel of technology!!!
Reminds me of my days as a real typing teacher, loved those days! The IBM Selectric Typeball was a revolutionary typing element. Antique keys are full of mystery and romance. Who did they belong to? What did they unlock? People's lives revolved around their secrets that were locked away. This picture brings to mind all kinds of images of past lives, places, and events that can be imagined in the hearts of romantics everywhere. Enjoy and Dream.
Skeleton keys have always held a place in my imagination. For me they open doors to other kingdoms, other dimensions, other worlds.
That's 8 (includes big one) regular "antique" keys here....and 2 "real" skeleton keys ...and one key I can't see the tip on ...a little lesson in case you didn't know :/
I have always loved old skeleton keys. I think they’re so beautiful. I was excited when I saw that the talented jewelry designer behind the Etsy shop Beyond the Rockz was inspired to create necklaces based on his own collection of antique and vintage keys (from Hooked on houses)

Ink: Vintage #typewriter keys. Okay, typewriter may be a bit of a stretch... but they're beautiful nonethless.
I remember how some of the keys would stick if I typed too fast, and how the ribbon could get a hole in it if you hit the keys too hard and also how the letters could filled in with ink! Ahhhh, memories. I do like today's keyboards better...r

Advice? I don't have advice. Stop aspiring and start writing. If you're writing, you're a writer. Write like you're a death row inmate and the governor is out of the country and there's no chance for a pardon. Write like you're clinging to the edge of a cliff, white knuckles, on your last breath, and you've got just one last thing to say, like you're a bird flying over us and you can see everything. Alan Watts (1915 - 1973)

Blogs are powerful drivers of awareness and creators of purchasing intent which ultimately lead to new customers, new employees or other new opportunities. This is doubly true as buyers are educating themselves before contacting sales teams to a far greater extent than ever. Below are the five things I wish I would have known when I first started writing this blog. I hope they are useful for anyone designing or redesigning a content marketing strategy. </p>

I remember this phone. Every house had a phone like this when I was growing up. We had a 4 party line...all had teenagers!
My grandma had a phone like this when I was a child. The first thing I did when arriving at her house was to call my cousin who lived about 10 minutes away. It was a party line and invariably I had to wait for the village gossip to get off the phone before I could call. The hamlet where she lived was so small that we didn't even have to dial the prefix to call from place to place . . .just the last four numbers, like an in-company extension line today! :-)
Trip down memory lane! I remember playing with a phone like this.

1970s high school typing classes. Not in our school. We never had electric typewriters. But I do remember the IBM Selectric Electric in my first job.
typing class! It wasn't offered until HIGH SCHOOL, and because of my schedule I couldn't take it until my Senior year. I got special treatment and THE BEST typewriter in the class! (Next to the teacher's typewriter.)
Typing class my senior year in high school -- so glad I took it -- even before there were personal computers!

1970s high school typing classes Half the year we were on manual and the other half on electric. (1973)
1970s typing classes. I took it in high school. My school was a new private school and we were given manual machines to use because we couldn't afford electric ones.
Typing class When I was in high school there was only ONE electric typewriter. We had to rotate weekly so everyone could have a turn! I miss the carriage bell.
