Ah, raised many of these growing up....feeding out of a pop bottle with a nipple in the middle of the nite. miss those days.@

We found these two raccoons in our backyard, no mom around. They both seemed to look kind of curious, and kind of nervous. My daughter said she likes this picture because the outline of their bodies makes the outline of a heart.

We have taken their sleeping places, their bushes they get berries from so let the eat some of the bird food. Better that the rats. And keep your dogs and cats in the house and all will be well.

Native to North America, the raccoon possesses extremely dexterous front paws. The dense underfur of its grayish coat insulates against cold weather. Raccoons are noted for their intelligence and adaptability. The original habitats of the raccoon are deciduous forests, but due to their adaptability they have extended their range to mountainous areas, coastal marshes, and urban areas, where some homeowners consider them to be pests.
