Tutorial on transferring pictures from transfer paper to canvas, fabric, or like in this picture, onto wood.

Print your photo on Lazertran paper, making sure the image prints on the chalky eggshell side. Let dry for 30 minutes. Cut the image to size. Soak the printout facedown in a pan of water for about a minute. Peel off the backing and place the filmy printout onto a ceramic vase, smoothing out any air bubbles. Once the paper dries, the white on the photo will show. If you want it to be clear, paint one to three coats of polyurethane over the top of the image.

Photo Transfer Artwork First, print a favorite photo on an overhead transparency. Cover the surface of your canvas with a thin coat of gel medium, a clear gloss finish that can be found at your local crafts store, then place the transparency ink-side down onto the gel. Burnish it with the back of a spoon. Lift a corner to see if the image has transferred, then peel off the film completely.
