      Easy freezing excess ripe tomatoes. Just wash, dry & freeze. When needed, run frozen tomato under hot water, & the skin peels right off. I have done this for years.

      Easy freezing excess ripe tomatoes. wash, remove stem, place in baggie, remove as much air as possible, freeze. peel, chop, use in cooking recipes (not good plain due to texture change w/ freezing). No info about thawing prior to use.

      Too many tomatoes? freeze them whole. their texture changes some, so use them in cooked tomato recipes. so much easier than canning.

    To freeze cherry tomatoes(from Gardenbetty) Wash and dry tomatoes thoroughly and put on a cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in your freezer for a couple hours until the tomatoes are frozen solid. This eliminates the risk of frozen clumps. Put them in a gallon size freezer bag and freeze for up to 1 year.
