Army Staff Sgt. Robert R. Pirelli Died August 15, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 29, of Franklin, Mass.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colo.; died Aug. 15 in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained from enemy small-arms fire.

Army Staff Sgt. David R. Berry Died February 22, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 37, of Wichita, Kan.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 161st Field Artillery, Kansas Army National Guard, Dodge City, Kansas; died Feb. 22 in Qasim, Iraq, when the vehicle he was in was struck an improvised explosive device.

Weiglein Died May 29, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 31, of Audubon, N.J.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.; died May 29 in Ilbu Falris, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position during a dismounted patrol.

Army SPC Chad J. Vollmer, 24, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Died December 23, 2006, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry, Michigan Army National Guard, Big Rapids, Michigan. Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Salman Pak, Babil Province, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Maj. Michael C. Mettille Died February 1, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 44, of West St. Paul, Minn., assigned to the 134th Brigade Support Battalion, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; died Feb. 1 at Camp Adder, Iraq, from a non-combat related injury.

Army Spc. Anthony Vargas Died November 8, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 27, of Reading, Pa.; assigned to 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died Nov. 8 in the Khogani district of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.

Army Sgt. Daniel J. Brown Died March 24, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 27, of Jerome, Idaho, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.; died March 24 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device.

Adair Died June 29, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 26, of Carthage, Texas; assigned to 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.; died June 29 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.
