Deck the (Front) Hall: Holiday Decor for the Entryway

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the moment when you step from a snowy street into a warm and welcoming home. If that home has a wreath on the door, a poinsettia on the hall table and a snowflake garland running up the banister? Well, good luck getting me to leave.

I love this!!! Reminds me of my Mamaw Williamson. She had a powder blue set like this. there's no place like home for the holidays by lucia and mapp, via Flickr

Card Tree Save your mantel from a paper blizzard with this "tree." To craft it, you'll need two wood dowels. Cut them into five segments, starting with eight inches wide and enlarging each piece by two inches. Fold two yards of ribbon in half, then place the shortest dowel about six inches from the fold, spacing the rest about five inches apart from one another. Hot-glue so the dowels are sandwiched between the two ribbon tails. Attach your favorite greetings to the dowels with small binder clips and hang.

Put on a pot of "Christmas scent" and get into the holiday spirit!

reminds me of the quote about not being afraid to build your dreams (and I'd add castles) in the clouds-----now put foundations under them! Castle + paper = stepping stone
