An antique-style area rug anchors the dining area and softens the dark-hued hardwood floors. Sheer linen drapes can be drawn when privacy is desired.

The kitchen flows straight into the dining room — a floor plan ideal for entertaining. To unify the two spaces, designer Linda Woodrum used the same yellow leather from the kitchen's bar stools on the dining room's wingback chairs.

A stainless steel wine chiller features full-extension sliding wine racks, faced in heart-of-cherry wood. The UV resistant, tempered glass door protects the precious contents.

A built-in convection oven with speedcook technology offers the features of oven, microwave and warming drawer in one small appliance.

Custom-crafted coffee drinks are made easy with a fully automatic stainless steel coffee machine. Built-in appliances create a seamless look that keeps countertops free of clutter.

A foil to shimmering stainless steel, mosaic tile backsplash, sourced in Reno, Nevada, is fashioned from antique boat wood. Impervious to moisture, it requires neither grout or sealant.

The contemporary kitchen anchors the home's open floor plan. Warm browns, cool tans and brilliant yellows inspired by fall foliage balance the industrial feel of restaurant-style appliances.

A Ming-inspired sideboard provides both space for storage and display of treasured accessories. Table lamps illuminate the space and provide visual interest.

A double-sided fireplace lends warmth and ambience in both the master bedroom and patio, where a chimney, wrapped in matte hot-rolled steel and surrounded by site-sourced boulders, becomes a captivating focal point.

Designed to take advantage of the forest, golf course and mountain views beyond, this outdoor kitchen and dining space provides a central, stylish spot to enjoy the natural beauty of Truckee Tahoe.
