The Rainbow on the White House reminds me of Gods promise to never destroy the human race again. Genesis 9:14-15 KJV And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. A New Yorker cover that never ran. It was supposed to have been printed to mark FDR's first inauguration (that's him in the car, grinning, next to a sullen President-Defunct Hoover). But on Feb. 15, a man named Giuseppe Zangara shot at Roosevelt. He missed, but hit Mayor Anton Cermak of Chicago, who eventually died, and the New Yorker's editors deemed the cover inappropriate.
