final wooden house / sou fujimoto

The Sutyagin House was the 13-story residence of Nikolai Petrovich Sutyagin and reportedly the world's tallest wooden house. Constructed without formal plans or a building permit, the structure deteriorated while Mr. Sutyagin spent a few years in prison for racketeering. In 2008, it was condemned as a fire hazard and ordered to be demolished. The tower was pulled down, and the remainder was dismantled manually. The remaining four-storey structure burned to the ground on May 6, 2012.

I like the dark/light contrast with the dappled light environment. I bet snow would be really gorgeous too.

What I wouldn't give to be sitting inside this little house with a book, coffee (or wine) and a roaring fire!

Really surprised to see this on the inside - because the outside looks pretty atrocious.

Kitchen With Skylight--I love the colors and the simplicity of this kitchen. Beautiful and serene.
