DIY Cake Flour. To make 1 cup of cake flour: measure 2 tbsp of corn starch into a 1 cup measuring cup. Level it off the rest of the way with the bleached all purpose flour. Just make sure to whisk it thoroughly before adding it to the wet ingredients.
DIY Bisquick. No chemicals or hydrogenated fat. 2 C flour 1 t. baking powder 1 t. sugar 1/2 t. salt 1 stick of butter Combine all ingredients, cut in the butter with a food processor or a pastry cutter and store in the refrigerator up to 4 months. A single recipe fits a quart jar very nicely...a jar of this would make a great gift too-add a baking dish or cookie sheet for extra nice gift!
