When it rains in the French Quarter, the locals swear a beautiful voice floats out of the mist. After you hear the story of Pere’ Dagobert vs. “Bloody” O’Reilly and the “singing rain,” you might hear it too.
I love Louisiana, and New Orleans has such personality! I'm so thankful that my work takes me to such wonderful places. Cafe DuMonde, famous for their beignets and coffee, was a favorite, as well as a horse and buggy ghost tour of the city, and Preservation Hall in the French Quarter, where we got to hear the "old timers" playing their signature New Orleans jazz.
Dying Lion Monument / Lucerne, Switzerland. A giant lion carved out of a wall of sandstone rock serves as a memorial for the soldiers from Switzerland who lost their lives during the French Revolution.
