This anti-abortion bill is actually composed of multiple bills at once. The bill would ban abortion after six weeks which violates Roe v. Wade. It would forces women to prove they have been raped. It would force women to be raped by the state. And it would define life as beginning at conception, a concept Mississippi voters overwhelmingly defeated last fall.
Gloria Steinem was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 25, 1934. She is an American feminist, writer, social and political activist, and cofounder of Ms. magazine. She also founded and co-founded many groups, including the Womens Action Alliance, on which she served as chair of the board throughout the 1970s; the NWPC, the Coalition of Labor Union Women; the Ms. Foundation for Women; Choice USA; and Womens Media Center.
