Really good book

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls- Reading this now. It is a fantastic memoir. She paints magical pictures of a childhood of neglect and the journey to a better life. (recommended by Jenni)

The Giver by Lois Lowry - I believe production has started on a movie version...I love it when my favorite books become movies!

The Giver - Read. I read this when I was in middle school and I didn't like it then. So, I thought, with the movie coming out, I'd give it another shot. Still leaves a bit to be desired, but the dystopian genre always makes me think.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson // The Swedish title is "Män som hatar kvinnor," meaning "Men Who Hate Women." And that is what the storylines boil down to - horrible men and a woman who fights back. Full of mystery and suspense and flawed characters you have to love. Best part? There are 2 other books to enjoy after this one.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson. It will be interesting to see how the movie turns out.

A Child Called It | Dave Pelzer New paperback Book pb

A Child Called It | Dave Pelzer New paperback Book pb

This book never fails to make me cry, make me sick to my stomach and want to kill this poor child's mother. But I think everyone should read it, just to know how horrible child abuse is and that these things really happen to innocent children.

I wish I had half the gumption of the author's grandmother and subject of the book. What a woman!

"Half Broke Horses: A True-Life Novel" by Jeannette Walls - Another book recommended by my book club!
