One of the more on target 'save the world' ads. While it would be nice if all of us wanted to save all of the difference species on this planet, in reality, some people will never care about anything or anyone besides themselves (see the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch for example.). This ad targets the 'does it effect me' response. Graphically it is clear immediately. Nailed it.

Food for thought!! Plastic in the ocean. #wysconcepts

Disturbing poster from the Surfrider Foundation makes the effects of plastics in the ocean real. Recent studies estimate that fish off the west coast ingest over 12,000 TONS of plastic a year! We need to all do our part to reduce & reuse. What goes in the ocean goes in you. Stop eating Fish! Save our oceans! Get rid of the plastic bags and clean up the trash in our oceans. We've already LOST 90% of our ENTIRE OCEAN SPECIES . How much more do u think mother nature can truly tolerate ?

Ocean trash poster: "The most dangerous species in the Mediterranean" by habitatnews, via Flickr

This great poster by the Surfrider Foundation and Rise Above Plastics is designed to raise awareness about ocean pollution. The advertiser has created sushi rolls out of the sort of rubbish that one might find in the sea. A brilliant, simple idea, with lovely clean art direction and a punchy piece of copy.
