HEDGE'S WIGWAM no longer stands, but stand it did, in Royal Oak, Michigan. And Why anyone Would Call it a "Wigwam" when We Youngsters Knew it was a TEE PEE is Beyond Me.

HEDGE'S WIGWAM, with its four (five?) huge (at least, when I was a kid) cigar store Indians arrayed in front was located on the southeast corner of Woodward Ave and Ten Mile Road in Royal Oak, MI, and was a familiar landmark to kids of my generation. Like pinner Maureen LaFleur, from whose Royal Oak board I repinned this image, my family and friends used to refer to it "the Teepee."

Mel's Drive-In restaurant is a dining facility that is covered by the Act. The Act also covers restaurants, cafeterias, lunchrooms, soda fountains, or other facility that primarily engages in selling food for consumption on the premises. A pizza restaurant that mainly delivers pizza is not covered in the act as it's primary business is delivering pizza. A convenience store that sells already cooked food, but doesn't have facilities for on-premises consumption isn't covered by the Act.
Adding a cool drive-in to the background would work well.

Liverpool Street Station, London. Sunday, May 21, 1922. I love seeing all these photos of railway stations from days long ago. To me they seem so evocative. The world moved slower, people had time for one another. And those mighty engines were a magnificent example of great British engineering.

Union Pacific Rail Road locomotive 1894. Not sure about this gentlemen, i don't think he's the 'look out'.....maybe the guy that shovels in the coal to make the locomotive move or engineer that always has his head out the window to see the condition of the train track?
The picture is a representation of the olden locomotive trains which ran on long railroad tracks. The railroads tracks were made through Cornelius Vanderbilt's railroad industry.
Union Pacific Railroad locomotive - 1894.The original company, prior to later uniting with the Central Pacific Railroad, was incorporated on July 1, 1862 under an act of Congress entitled Pacific Railroad Act of 1862. The act was approved by President Abraham Lincoln, and it provided for the construction of railroads from the Missouri River to the Pacific as a war measure for the preservation of the Union.

Car Elevator, 1930S, Parking 1930, Vintage Photos, Vertical Parking, 1930 S, Elevator Garage
Vertical parking, 1930s. This was an “elevator garage” in Chicago, 33 W. Monroe Street. It held up to 48 cars. Workers simply drove into the elevator car, parked in their sky-high slots, then walked along the fire escape to their offices. No way !! 😁😁
Freestanding 48 Car Elevator Parking Garage in Downtown Chicago's business district, 1936. Built by the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company.
vertical parking, 1930's! 33 W. Monroe St. Chicago... capacity 48 cars. workers drove elevator car, parked in sky-high slots, walked along fire escape to offices
Car elevator in the Loop during in 1936. But where is the exact location of the building? We suspect that this car elevator was at 35 E. Wacker, which had a car elevator system until World War II. The parking garage at 35 E. Wacker still has remnants of the car elevator inside. Workers simply drove into the elevator car, parked in their sky-high slots, then walked along the fire escape to their offices.
