"Attached is a photograph of my grandmother Claire, and her brother Jack. I never met my grandmother, and so know her only through family stories and photographs. It seems to me that she looks gorgeous (and effortlessly glamorous) in every photograph, but this is one of my favorites. Don’t you love the white shoes?! Best regards, Janet" via The Sartorialist

Japanese atrocities from WWII - I'm not trying to be vindictive here; I'm not that kind of person and I have NOTHING against Japan or Japanese people today. But history is what it is - and history hurts. Click the pin to read the rest.

Read Escape from Davao for insight into Japanese atrocities in the Philippines...including the Bataan Death March.

I actually Have Read "Escape From Davao" by John D Lukacs. The Japanese treatment of American and UK P.O.W.s was as vicious as the Nazi's treatment of Jews, though on a much smaller scale.

Anyone know what the poster says? Above it says 'competition'...just wondering what was meant by that .
