I consider this to be King's best literary work. I also consider it to be one of the best pieces of literature in the 20th C. It has nearly all literary motifs, and heavy in symbolism. A good read, and a good study in lit!

Rebecca--Daphne du Maurier. Read it in high school, but bought a copy just to have it. Watch the movie a lot, but still....

If you loved "The Kite Runner," you will love this book also. Unimaginably tragic, Hosseini's magnificent second novel is a sad and beautiful testament to both Afghani suffering and strength.

The Book Thief--my daughter started it but said it was slow moving. I haven't read it yet, but it is on my list.

This book was recommended by one of my students. It's not my typical read, but I did find it difficult to put down.
