You will notice a difference the very first time..even plastic containers are spotless!Dishwasher Detergent ingredients: 1 box Borax 1 box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda 24 packages of unsweetened lemonade drink mix, like kool-aid. (**Note: lemonade will stain soap dispenser yellow, another option would be to use citric acid instead of lemonade) 3 cups Epsom Salt

1 cup washing soda (old recipe used baking soda) 1/4 c. citric acid (old recipe said 1/3 c.) 1/4 c. coarse salt (old recipe said 1/3 c.) 10-15 drops of citrus essential oil (Optional. Orange, grapefruit, or lemon essential oils have great cleaning as well as antibacterial properties.) Homemade citrus vinegar cleaner

This works great, I used the citric acid in my mix because i dont use any artificial ingredients. I found it at Wally Mart by the canning supplies for $2.95. I did add some Organic white vinegar to the rinse dispenser to help with some of the spots. I am pinning to save $$ because she has SO many great ideas on how to save you money but also clean your house green! GREAT BLOG!

Dishwasher Detergent Ingredients: 1 cup borax 1 cup washing soda White vinegar Directions: Mix together the borax and washing soda and store in a plastic container with a lid. I used an old dishwasher capsules container: 2 T. per load and white vinegar for rinsing agent.

Homeade Dishwasher Detergent: not valid now as Brayton and I ARE the dishwashers but for future use!

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent recipe that ACTUALLY works. No borax, just 3 cents per load. So easy and quick to make.

I'll be trying this next for our dishwasher. I was using the borax and washing soap with citric acid, but the dishes aren't coming so clean. Plus it's in liquid form so I'm hoping it doesn't leave a residue on the dishes.

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent! 1 Cup of Borax, 1 Cup Baking Soda, 1/2 Cup Kosher Salt, 1/2 Cup Citric Acid (You can purchase "Fresh Fruit" in the canning isle. It is a produce protector or you can puchase 15 packets of lemon Kool-aid, the unsweetened kind, and that works as well.) Mix all ingredients! Use 1 Tbsp per load!
