Sears Catalog. I was five years old with this issue. Goodness I miss the Sears Christmas catalog. Everything was possible!
1962 Sears Christmas Book - I spent hours and hours looking at this catalog and circling what toys I wanted.
Sears Christmas Catalog, 1962 - we lived for the Sears catalog when stationed overseas. This one is from the year I was born.
Sears Christmas Catalog, 1962. Wish list. Oh how I loved coming home from school in November and finding the Wish Book had come in the mail that day.
Sears Christmas catalog. I spent HOURS studying every page. At my house if you asked for something you would never get so we tried "hinting" which sometimes got unintended results.
Miscellaneous pages from a 1962 Sears Christmas Book. For comparison purposes, $1 in 1962 = $6.51 in 2006 dollars, or $1 in 2006 = $0.15 in 1962.
Sears Christmas Catalog, 1962. Always a treat to get the Christmas book in the mail. So pretty and full of toys.
Kids were occupied for hour marking their Christmas wish list in the Sears Christmas Catalog!
Looking at the Sears Christmas Wish book was so much fun, the anticipation was incredible!

Neatnik Teens: 1969 Sears Catalog. There was Sears.....and then there was Neiman~Marcus. Just the most subtle (yet obvious) differences in the same (copied) styles and fabrics. My mother made the mistake of showing me the difference when I was very young....she was a Sewing-Mom and pointed out the finely-made differences to me. In Texas, in the 60's, if you got to get your school clothes at N~Marcus, you were doing pretty good!
