From: http://www.weatherpix.com - A large and violent tornado approaches Pampa Texas on May 19th, 1982. A short time later, the tornado struck the Pampa Industrial Park and leveled 7 prefabricated metal buildings causing more than 3 million dollars in damages.

On this day 29th August, 1923 Richard Attenborough, English actor and director was born. He won two Academy Awards for Gandhi in 1982 and has also won four BAFTA Awards. As an actor he is perhaps best known for his roles in The Great Escape, 10 Rillington Place and Jurassic Park. Dickie passed away on 24th August, 2014, a great loss to the film industry. by B. Lowe
