2 tsp Lemon peel

Refrigerated

3 Egg whites
3 Egg yolks

Condiments

3 tbsp Butter or margarine
1/2 cup Lemon juice

Baking & Spices

1/3 cup Cornstarch
1/4 tsp Cream of tartar
2 drops Food color, yellow
1 cup Gold medal all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/3 cup Shortening
1 7/8 cups Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla

Liquids

26 tbsp Water

The best, no fail, lemon meringue pie. The meringue stays fluffy and does not pull away from the crust. The filling does not get runny, it stays perfectly together when you slice the pie :)
