    If you are building a new home, add pocket doors to use as dog gates or baby gates.

    doesnt actually link to anything, but I wonder if we could put in swinging/removable half doors between the living room and kitchen? Even two normal sized baby gates, one attached to each side? Hmmmmm. Possibilities. Dont think we could do pocket doors, because, well, who want to get involved in all of that nonsense, not to mention the whole wall/staircase thing.

    I've been thinking of dutch door from mudroom to kitchen. Couldn't do full pocket door because of placement of electrical panel. Could I do a Half-pocket door? {slide out dog doors... this is the greatest idea EVER... no more awful looking baby gates!!! But this could be used for kids not just dogs}

I would love sliding wooden doors like this on our basement cabinets. Already saw this idea and added it to my Houz book!

Sliding Screen Doors - The owners of this South Carolina home wanted a welcoming entry and loved the idea of keeping their front door open to enjoy the breeze while still keeping bugs at bay. The answer: sliding screened doors hung just inside the foyer, instead of outside the front entrance. Plus, the doors keep the entry and surrounding area open because there is no door swing.

I kind of like putting away the kitchen rather than showcasing it. Stainless grills never really look clean and fresh after a year or so outside.

sliding glass barn-style door. Perfect alternative to a pocket door, or to add a sound barrier that lets light through.

I love rustic doors in a clean, contemporary setting.

Front Porch Gate. I saw one of these a few blocks from my home and have wondered how to make one to keep my dogs on the porch.

I love pocket doors - every room in the house should have them!! (think of the floor space saved and the decorating you could do without doors hitting things!) These are beautiful.
