Cleaning Silver I lined the sink with aluminum foil, the bottom and up on all sides. Then I poured a half-cup of ordinary table salt and a half-cup of baking soda into the sink; filled it with really hot water, and dropped in the silverware. Leave in water for half hour
Aluminum Foil, Boiling Water, Baking Soda and Salt: Keep your sterling shined with this seemingly magic method. Line your sink or a bucket with aluminum foil, and drop in tarnished silver. Pour in boiling water, a cup of baking soda and a dash of salt. Let sit for a few minutes. The tarnish will transfer from the silver to the foil
1. Put water, 1 TBSP baking soda and aluminium foil (shiny side up) into a saucepan. 2. Bring to the boil. 3. Place your silverware into the saucepan, only a couple of pieces at a time. This should only take about 10 seconds but if they are really tarnished they may need a bit longer. 4. Use your tongs to fish out your silverware and marvel at how shiny it is! 5. Buff dry with a dry cloth.
