    As Autumn gets into full swing, leaves across the UK start falling from the trees in their millions. Each of these is then broken down by a whole host of decomposers who recycle the nutrients back into the soil, preventing us from being swamped in a mountain of soggy leaves. These decomposers include woodlice, earthworms, slugs, snails, millipedes and slime molds, and they’re the true unsung heroes of the UK forest floor. Via @mtwara99 for #EarthOnLocation.
