Mt Rushmore under construction - 1939

Robert E. Lee, resting in peace....the Lee Chapel at Washington Lee University in Lexington, Va is where he lies. This is the monument to him, however he is actually entombed in the family crypts in the bottom of the building. He is across from his office that he used while President of the University (which was left exactly as it was the day he died...and you cna still see) and also his beloved horse, Traveller, is buried just outside the door...only feet from where he lies.
