"it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when He leads me home. And with my hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch the face of "Christ." This is so beautiful and so true.

Family is not about blood. It's about who is willing to hold your hand when you need it most | quotes | wisdom | advice | life lessons

  • just me.

so very true. blood means absolutely nothing in my family of origin, other than it's the red stuff that drips from the knife that they stab my back with. the sad thing is this horrible behavior is common procedure for generation after generation and only recognized when you no longer are controlled and tempted by the blood money, antiques and heirlooms.walk away. love those who love you. breaks my heart.

I thought this picture went really well with what we talked about in class on Thursday. This picture shows how the meaning of "family" has changed. Nowadays our friends are our family even though they are not related to us by blood. Family is not about those we are directly related to but about those who are in our life every step of the way. When I was talking to other students in class, I realized we all had a broader definition of family and I think this picture encompasses that definition.

Would be really cool to do with my daughter, my mom, and my grandma... or all of my kid as she grows, if I can remember throughout the years!

SCULPTURE by Sam Jinks- I've been seeing this on Pinterest and had no idea it was a sculpture! See more at the link.

.All the years of my life, I seldom really looked at my hands. But now with more wrinkles, harder calluses, thinner skin, and a little creakiness, I have come to understand my hands better. Years of hard work, rough, but still able to offer a gentle caress. They’ve served me well – these wonderful gifts of God! – reaching out and grasping life! Look at yours sometime – really look at them.

5 generations photo This is neat...think my family needs to take one of these for our 4 generations
